This is an audio archive of recordings that I have made on projects that, for whatever reason, have been set aside in favour of other priorities. If you’d like to dig into the archives of my past projects – follow this link and listen.

The Iron Door Chapter 1: Clinton
This is a story written by British novelist Mark Borg. The novel itself is a work in progress. Mark has written it, but was editing the chapters as we went. Unfortunately Mark has taken a break from the project to pursue other interests. I remain optimistic that I will get an email from him one of these days telling me that he’s ready for The Iron Door again. Until then, I wish him luck on the animated series that he is working on now (link coming soon).
The story follows a man named Michael Spencer. A freelance photographer that works in Boston who finds himself trapped in a ritualistic nightmare after he receives an alarming phone call from his mother (Karan) pleading him to return to his native New Jersey. The first few chapters can also be found on Dublit: http://dublit.com/stories/the-iron-door)

The Metal Monster: Prologue
The Metal Monster started out as a recording of a single chapter of the Abraham Merritt’s book The Metal Monster for Librivox.org. While I was reading the style of the narration and the word choice of the period reminded me so strongly of the Old Time Radio shows to which I’d been listening at the time (specifically a series called “Escape” that broadcast from 1947 to 1954 on CBS Radio) that I felt that I had to experiment with that style. Imitating an Old Time Radio show also gave me interesting opportunities to explore audio editing techniques and adding multiple tracks to a recording for sound effects and music. Some samples of “Escape” may be listened to at this link:http://www.otrfan.com/otr/series/escape.html.

The Tomb: As you may have already discovered from the other links on this site, I am an avid fan of early 19th century fiction in general and Lovecraft in particular. So it is not surprising that as one of my very first projects I chose to render one of his stories. I have made several recordings of this story and have not posted any of them for public review. Should I use the tired, booming voice of a narrator who has seen horror? Should I use the unstable, defensive voice of a man on the edge? Should I consider the audience to be a child in front of a radio set in the 1940’s? Or should I consider my audience to be the educated live audience of a Selected Shorts? If you have any advice, I would be glad to consider it.
